Meet our Coding Lab student, Ishan Srivastava, whose curiosity and passion for technology have inspired him to dream beyond what is possible today. At the International Coding Showcase (ICS) 2025/26, he showcased his creativity and problem-solving skills through an original project, earning the Gold Award for his outstanding achievement.
His journey reflects a love for learning, innovation, and using technology to explore exciting possibilities. Now let’s hear more from Ishan about his coding journey!

Tell us a little about yourself!
I have many hobbies, including sports, video games, and coding. Most of my free time is spent enjoying these activities. I like playing sports because they keep me active, video games because they are fun and creative, and coding because it allows me to build new things and explore exciting ideas.
How did your coding journey begin?
I started coding after watching my brother create entire games so quickly. Seeing what he could build inspired me and made me curious about how coding worked. I decided to give it a try myself, and I soon discovered that I really enjoyed creating things and solving problems through programming.
What inspired you to participate in ICS 2025/26?
I decided to join the International Coding Showcase because it is a fun competition that encourages creativity and innovation. It provides a great opportunity to develop original ideas, learn new skills, and challenge myself while enjoying the entire process.
I also wanted to see how my project compared with those created by other talented young coders from around the world. Participating in an international competition motivated me to push myself and do my very best.
What was the biggest lesson you learned during the project?
Through ICS, I learned how to turn my ideas into a complete project while continuing to improve my coding skills. Along the way, I discovered the importance of creativity, problem-solving, and perseverance whenever I encountered challenges.
The best part of the experience was creating something that I was truly proud of, while also seeing the amazing projects developed by participants from different countries and backgrounds. It inspired me to continue learning and creating even bigger projects in the future.

What are your aspirations for the future?
In the future, I hope to use technology and artificial intelligence to help humanity answer some of the biggest questions about our universe. One of my dreams is to contribute to space exploration and scientific research by using AI in rockets and advanced research systems.
I am especially fascinated by learning more about how the universe began and exploring ideas related to the Big Bang. I hope that one day I can combine my passion for coding, AI, and science to make meaningful contributions to discoveries that benefit the world.
