#CodingLabStudents: Ittipat Sratonghug, ICS 2025/26 Platinum Award Winner!
Congratulations to Ittipat for winning the ICS 25/26 Platinum + Judge’s Choice (Best Design) Award!
Meet Ittipat Sratonghug from Bangkok Christian College, Thailand, whose passion for coding has taken him from creating simple games to developing projects on an international stage. At the International Coding Showcase (ICS) 2025/26), he impressed the judges with his creativity and technical skills, earning both the Platinum Award and the Judges' Choice (Best Design) Award.
Through his project, he demonstrated how thoughtful design and innovative programming can come together to create an engaging and impactful experience. Now let’s hear more from Ittipat about his coding journey!
“ICS gave me the perfect international platform to test my coding skills, receive valuable feedback, and see how programming can be used to make a positive difference in the world.”
Tell us a little about yourself!
I enjoy coding and playing video games in my free time. Beyond the screen, I practice Taekwondo, which helps me stay active and focused. I am also learning German, and of course, I love spending time and playing with my friends. Whether I'm building a new program, practicing martial arts, or simply having fun with my friends, I always enjoy learning new things and challenging myself.
How did your coding journey begin?
I started coding because I wanted to create my own games instead of just playing them! I began with Scratch, which helped me understand programming logic in a fun and visual way. As my curiosity grew, I moved on to learning languages like Python and C#, while also exploring game engines such as Unity. I love seeing my ideas come to life on the screen and discovering what I can create through coding.
What inspired you to participate in ICS 2025/26?
I wanted to challenge myself and see what I could create on an international level. ICS gave me the perfect opportunity to test my skills, receive valuable feedback, and learn from other talented young coders around the world.
I also really liked this year's theme because it encouraged me to work on a project that I genuinely care about. It showed me how coding can be used not only to build games and apps, but also to make a positive difference in the world.
What was the biggest lesson you learned during the project?
Throughout the project, I learned a lot about time management and problem-solving, especially when my code didn't work as expected. Every bug became an opportunity to think critically, experiment with different solutions, and improve my project.
The most memorable moment was finding out that I had won the Platinum Award. It reminded me that perseverance, patience, and never giving up are just as important as technical skills when working on a challenging project.
“After advancing from Scratch to Python, C#, and Unity, earning the Platinum Award at ICS inspires me to aim for the ASEAN Scholarship to study in Singapore and become a future software engineer!”
What are your aspirations for the future?
I want to continue practicing and creating even more complex games and useful applications because I know there is still so much for me to learn.
One of my biggest goals is to earn the ASEAN Scholarship to study in Singapore, where I hope to further develop my technology skills. In the future, I would love to pursue a career in coding, whether as a software engineer or a game developer, creating innovative applications and games that people around the world can enjoy.
At Coding Lab, we're incredibly proud of Ittipat's passion for learning and his willingness to challenge himself through coding. His Platinum Award at ICS 2025/26 is a wonderful reflection of his hard work, perseverance, and creativity. We can't wait to see what he builds next as he continues to pursue his dreams in technology. Congratulations, and we wish him every success on his coding journey!
