1st Place at Lockheed Martin Code Quest 2025!

We’re thrilled to celebrate Xavion, Jacob, and Winston, our talented #CodingLabStudents who clinched 1st place in the Novice Division of the Lockheed Martin Code Quest 2025!

Competing against 38 teams from across the Asia-Pacific region, these three students rose to the top with their creativity, coding skills, and unstoppable teamwork. Their journey is a testament to what can be achieved with the right guidance, hard work, and passion.

Each year, Lockheed Martin hosts Code Quest, an annual computer programming competition where teams of two to three high school students work together to solve problems by using Java, Python, C#, and/or C++ programming to complete the “quest”. The problem set consists of 20 to 30 challenging problems created by Lockheed Martin engineers and computer programmers.

These students have consistently worked hard on their coding journey and their various achievements outside of this competition is a testament to their abilities!

Now introducing the team members of Algorithm Aces:

First, we have Xavion, currently 13 years old from Singapore American School, the leader of the team!

Xavion has been learning programming for several years, and has previously won the Distinction and Judges' Choice (Best Presentation) in the Advanced Computer Scientists category of the International Coding Showcase 2022.

We are proud that Xavion has clinched yet another award in coding competitions, and we hope that he can achieve his goal of further competing as well as exploring Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning!

You can read more about Jacob in this blog here!

The next team member is Jacob, currently 14 years old and attending NUS High School, which he got into via DSA!

Jacob also has past experience with coding competitions, having won the Gold Award in the Hwa Chong Infocomm Challenge (HCIC 2023), one of the most prestigious coding competitions among Primary 6 students in Singapore!

He has also achieved a Distinction and Judges’ Choice (Best Presentation) Award in the Advanced Electives category at the International Coding Showcase (ICS) 2022. His winning entry was a Ukraine Awareness website, showcasing his coding abilities as well as his awareness of current issues.

For the Minecraft Cup 2023, Jacob’s team - Team Coding Lab Urban Coders (Ages 13 to 18) -comprising students from Singapore and Japan beat more than 500 teams (and 10,000 participants) to snag the Best Programming Award in the final competition! Jacob was even selected to represent his team and share about their project at the final competition, and even had the chance to tour the Microsoft Japan HQ in Shinagawa, Tokyo. 🤩

Lastly, we have Winston, currently 14 years old, and attending St. Andrew’s Secondary School, which he got into via coding DSA!

Just like his team members, he is no stranger to coding competitions. He has previously clinched the Distinction and Judges’ Choice (Most Creative) Award in the Advanced Electives category at the International Coding Showcase (ICS) 2022. He created a Sleep Tracker to help him manage his sleeping habits, and help others who face similar problems.

We are glad that he has had another opportunity to showcase his programming skills along with his team members in the Lockheed Martin Code Quest 2025, and we hope you continue gaining more achievements.

🎉 Congratulations once again to our winning team: Algorithm Aces, and we hope you make even more steps in your coding journey!
