Defend the Galaxy: Code Your Own Space Shooter Game!
3… 2… 1… Blast off! Jump into the cockpit and defend the galaxy with a retro-arcade space shooter built in Scratch! Taking inspiration from classics like Space Invaders, students take the helm of their very own starfighter to blast through incoming waves of enemy ships.
Young pilots will discover how professional game mechanics work under the hood. They’ll use User Events to steer their spaceship, code responsive laser-firing effects, deploy Cloning to spawn relentless enemy fleets, and use Sensing and Coordinate blocks to register direct hits in the heat of battle.
It is the ultimate hands-on mission to master core programming logic while building an action-packed game they can challenge their friends to beat!
