Hovan’s passion for teaching blossomed when he was 15. With the addition of two younger brothers into the family, Hovan was tasked with the guidance of his toddler brothers. He instilled in them not just knowledge but also discipline, morality and almost everything else about being human.

Ever since Hovan started his university journey and has delved into the depths of programming, he has decided to fuse his passion for teaching with his newly found love for programming.

With the aim of not only imparting the art of programming and logical thinking, Hovan also enjoys helping new students take their first baby steps into the pool of coding.

Ryan graduated from NTU with a Bachelor degree in Computer Science and was a Senior Engineer in DSTA for 5 years. He was involved with the Enterprise Data Advanced Analytics System used by leading data scientists for MINDEF.

He enjoys teaching and has taught children both locally and overseas (Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam).

He hopes to use his experience and passion to inculcate an exploratory and forward-thinking attitude in the students at Coding Lab so that each child will be prepared for the digital world ahead.

Trained in Hospitality and Tourism Management, Sin Zhen finds joy in helping people and their enquiries, as well as working with kids. Her prior experience at the Resorts world Sentosa Kids Club and Mercure Singapore Bugis has instilled in her the exacting standards required in providing high quality service to her clients.

She enjoys building relationships with people and speaking to parents on how to value add to their child’s future. She is a firm believer in the value of education. Always armed with a cheerful smile, Sin Zhen is a familiar sight to parents and students who walk through the doors daily at Coding Lab.

Reiko enjoys exploring new ideas and questing for knowledge. Fuelled by a desire to make the world a better place, Reiko believes that education and digital literacy is key to empowering the next generation. Her passion for working with kids was cultivated through her many experiences in mentoring, tutoring, and facilitation of workshops.

A firm believer in holistic, all-rounded education, Reiko seeks to impart not just the technicalities of coding, but also the courage to explore, the eye for good design, and the heart for meaningful creations to each and every child she meets through her work.

Growing up in STEM-focused Singapore with a research scientist father, Iris learnt to love math and science from an early age. She learnt Python, R and SQL in order to improve her data analysis skills. Learning languages—both human and computer—has opened up new worlds for her. She enjoys the problem solving process of expressing the solution to a problem in a programming language of her choice.

She does social work outside of work, and has volunteered with non-profit organizations that serve children and animals. She enjoys bringing joy to others and is devoted to supporting children to become the future leaders in technology.
